"The hotel is situated a bit further from the city center, but there is no need to worry because the public transport around the hotel is excellent and efficient. The breakfast offered is great, and while the bed is quite soft, I would prefer it to be a bit firmer for better back support. The housekeeping staff was very helpful. Overall, my stay was pleasant, and I look forward to staying at the hotel again in the future."

"We had a great few nights stay at Scandic Grand Central. The check-in process was smooth- The hotel even provided an online check-in option that would also notify us when our room is ready so that we can check in earlier. The room was a little smaller than we imagined but nevertheless well-equipped. The breakfast buffet is a MUST- There's a wide variety of food and they are all scrumptious. The staff was warm and accommodating- Big thumbs up to the cleaning staff who greeted us everyday without fail with the biggest smile on their faces. The location is also fantastic-Its very central so all the tourist attractions and transport is within walking distance."

"Executive room: The semi-deluxe room is larger and faces the street (it is really not recommended to stay on weekends. There is the hottest bar in the city downstairs. It is really exciting on weekends. It is like living next to a KTV, listening to loud music and singing to sleep) Of course, jet lag may make you sleepy, but it does not affect your sleep, but the executive rooms along the street are really not recommended on weekends! The deluxe room is a patio interior view room. I personally think it is quieter and more suitable for sleeping! Needless to say, the breakfast was very good! There are many varieties in Northern Europe, and there are many homemade delicacies in the hotel! Highly recommend having hotel breakfast! The executive lounge is on the second floor, and the upper lounge opens on the right. From 2:00 to 6:00 every afternoon, there are some snacks, afternoon tea, fruit cookies, chocolates, etc. You can order a variety of wine, coffee, and drinks. Last order at 5:30pm. They are all free, the only ones that charge are those listed on the list. Others are free to use in the executive lounge. Executive rooms are available at any time. Overall it's very good, from service to hardware and software! Unless you particularly like drinking and having afternoon tea, you can choose an executive room. If you want to have a good rest, choose a deluxe room~"

"The room is clean and provides slippers, shampoo, and bath gel. There is no toothpaste or anything. I think the breakfast is good. The location is good and it is convenient to go to various attractions. Although the room is arranged along the street, it is not noisy. You can choose a room not along the street, and the price will probably be different. Overall satisfied."

AAnonymous UserOur experience wasn't off to a good start, dealing with Jason when dropping our bags in the morning. He was borderline racist, assuming we were with the other Asian groups, making presumptions about our requests, and had difficulties understanding our requests on arranging for early to-go breakfast boxes. But everything else during our stay was perfect hence the 5 stars. Everyone else we dealt with, including the house keepers, restaurant staff and cleaners were all great - very helpful and friendly. The hotel is strategically located right next to the Central railway station. The room itself was large and clean and beautifully decorated. We also tried out the facilities including sauna and cold plunge (a Finnish culture), which were top notch. The gym was also world class and properly better equipped than some other commercial gyms out there. The other highlight was the breakfast. So many options even for vegetarians like us, all allergens clearly labelled. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's ever in Helsinki.

HheidiOverall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing. I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip. Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest. Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion. Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity. In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I hope that Bob W seriously takes feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for travelers in the future. Thank you

VVon30Overall stay was ok. However room design was very weird. Bathroom floors were not heated which wasn’t great during the cold weather. Tried calling reception several times to request  for an extra heater as the room heating wasn’t sufficient. Nobody answered and had to go down to reception to request for one. Funny thing is even the reception staff was not aware if it was available.  I have never been to a hotel where the staff at reception would answer me with “I don’t know” or I’m not sure, I need to check. Breakfast spread was good with many choices.

YYorkshire visitingI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Valo Hotel in Helsinki, and it was an exceptional experience! The modern design and warm atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met. The amenities, including the gym and wellness area, were top-notch, providing a perfect way to unwind after a busy day of exploring the city. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to access local attractions. I highly recommend Valo Hotel Helsinki for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish stay in the heart of the city! Five stars all the way!

DDean MauriceWe had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well. We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo. The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used! The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin. The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception. There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea. We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.

GGuest UserGood value for fair price. Good location, very close to tram and bus stations, If you're coming to Helsinki by plane, you can go directly to the hostel from the airporty by bus no 600. 24 hours market and cafes just nearby. Hostel offers you lot of activities, depends on day of the week. Overall it's clean, breakfasts are OK, staff at the reception is nice & helpfull, common things available here like i.e. luggage storage, free ear plugs and so on. My only con is - no curtains by the beds. If you have really bad luck, just as I had, you may draw a lower bed in dorm just by the door to the room. Every single person, just by opening the door, allows stream of bright light right into your face which is frustrating, especially in the middle of the night. A piece of cloth, just hanging along the bed could solve this issue and keep a minimum of privacy.

YYee11Stayed at Scandic Helsinki Aviapolis, a convenient airport hotel near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Overall, it was a good stay, ideal for transit travelers and short visits. The hotel is just a few minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle service running every 20–30 minutes. It is also within walking distance of Aviapolis train station (about 15 minutes), making it easy to reach Helsinki city center. A major plus is the Jumbo Shopping Mall nearby, offering a variety of restaurants, shops, and a grocery store—perfect for those needing last-minute essentials or an alternative dining option. The room was clean, modern, and functional, featuring comfortable bedding, a work desk, and a well-maintained bathroom with a walk-in shower and essential toiletries. The breakfast buffet starts at 6 AM, offering a great selection of fresh bread, cold cuts, hot dishes, and Finnish specialties. For those with super early flights, a light breakfast is available from 4 AM. Due to time constraints - I briefly checked out the gym and sauna in the basement which appeared well-maintained. The staff was friendly and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth. The overall atmosphere is modern and practical, making it a great choice for travelers catching an early flight or needing a short, comfortable stay near the airport.

GGuest UserSenate Hotel, although basic, is situated well for local attractions - 10 minutes walk from the shops/ restaurants/nightlife of Helsinki city centre; 15 minutes walk from the harbour, if you arrive by ferry; and right next to Senate Square/Helsinki Cathedral. The hotel, itself, is based in an apartment building, on the fifth floor, and has ten rooms. There's a five-hour window, in which there's a receptionist to meet you (3-8pm). Outside of this time, you are given a code to enter the main door of the building, and then the front door of the hotel section, which I had to do. As it turned out, a friendly staff member was still there when I arrived, and I was fortunate enough to be given a free room upgrade. The double room I was given, was larger than average, and included a wash basin and small refrigerator. The bathroom and toilets are shared, but clean with a good, strong shower, and separate men's and women's toilets. There's also a small shared kitchen, so you could prepare food. My hotel room had a comfy bed, and good thick enough curtains which, if you're here in the height of Summer, means you won't be woken by the sunrise before 4am! The decor is a bit dated, but if you need info on what to do, where to go, and what's happening in Helsinki, there's lots of information. This is more of a short-stay hotel - a few days, at most, but if you need a well-located, warm, simple place to base yourself while in the city, this is actually a good choice.

GGuest UserThe distance is very close. There is no self-service check-in. The environment is not bad. There are shared bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. You need to bring your own ingredients. The price is high and it is only about 1.5 kilometers away from Vantaa Airport. It is very cost-effective for those who want to travel for a short time or transfer. It's like living in a semi-forest! The heater is not very warm and the temperature is a bit low. I don’t know if the cold spot will be higher!
